Part-time after-school carer wanted! $28.50 per hour + kiwisaver contributions + sick & annual leave Looking for a fun, friendly and reliable person to help us with our special boy! We are looking for someone with childcare experience who can help on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons between 3pm and 6pm and Sunday mornings around 3-4 hrs during school terms. Additional hours are available during school holidays (mornings/afternoons), and at other times as agreed (e.g. occasional evenings). We are in the Brooklyn/Vogeltown area. As a helper for my 13 year old boy with autism your role is to provide him with the help and support he requires, including: school pick-ups getting afternoon tea ready for him personal cares keeping him happy and entertained outings (e.g. during school holidays) You are open-minded, willing to learn about autism and how it affects my boy’s life. You are non-judgmental, super-reliable, sociable and caring. Prior experience with people with additional needs is useful but not essential. Having a driver’s license and your own car would also be useful, but again not essential. As this role is all about building a fun and trusted relationship to our boy and our family, please only apply if you are willing to commit to at least four months.
